Before Believe. Teach. Practice., I had opportunities to preach in the parishes I served. With Believe. Teach. Practice., I have become a preacher.
I’ve received many helps from other preachers along the way – including the from Catholic Women’s Preaching Circles (you can learn more about them here) and Boston College’s Courage to Preach certificate program (you can learn more about that here). Both offered space for me to learn, to practice, and to receive the gift of thoughtful and detailed feedback.
I prepared on Becoming a Preacher with my preaching companions from the Courage to Preach and the Catholic Women’s Preaching Circles in mind, particularly the companions who I have yet to meet, the ones who are just beginning their own becoming. I hope that reflecting on my experience can make some return on the encouragement and guidance that I’ve received.
